INTERNET!

Ah we finally have internet in the hotel and everyone's freaking out!

I'm happy to report that after overcoming the jet lag which attempted to kill me for two days straight (it almost succeeded), I'm am beyond in love with Spain and am NEVER coming back to the US. The only thing missing here are my friends in family, and thus I have decided to fly you all in to live with me!

So far I we've visited Madrid (for which I mostly sick with the lag), and yesterday we arrived in Toledo. Madrid was interesting because it has the second largest palace in the world, as well as tons of other historical cathedrals and such (The Prado). Toledo is basically a GIANT castle in which little stores replace ancient markets in narrow, steep cobble streets. I'm really surprised that everyone here is so nice. Minus a few kids, everyone for the most part is down to hang out, go on adventures and run through the streets aimlessly! The shopping is incredible (as I predicted) and the people here dress sooooooo fly.

Vegetarian food has been someone difficult to come by :/ and vegan food is completely unheard of. I've eaten a lot of pizza, seeing as ordering a salad even came with mean on it! Today we stumbled upon a common rice dish called Paella which can be served with vegetables and rice cooked and served in a pan annnndd I'm thinking that's going to be the staple of my diet while I'm here. Helado here is amazing (but you all know how much I love ice cream anywhere I go).

Tomorrow we take an 8 hour bus ride to Barcelona to meet our host families! My roommate is suuuper rad and vegetarian as well so that's definitely been a major plus. The internet here is so slow none of the pictures are posting :( but as soon as I have steady internet I PROMISE I'll get some decent pictures up here.
